Baseball is one of the sports that is enjoyed by many. This sport is enjoyed by the whole family. The Los Angeles Dodgers is one of the teams in the Major League Baseball that is adored by many fans. There is a good reason why people are going crazy for Dodger tickets. The team has played in a total of 18 World Series since they were started 1883.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been known under a multitude of names. The team was known as the Brooklyn Atlantics in 1883. They were also known as the Bridegrooms, Grooms, Superbas, Robins, Trolley Dodgers, and later on as Dodgers. They were called the Dodgers in the 1930?s. Despite being called under different nicknames, the supporters of the team were always there for the team. The Dodgers in turn provide their fans with great plays. Dodgers tickets have been difficult to get since most people want to see their team play.

The people holding Dodgers tickets last 15th of April in 1947 witnessed a historical event in the sport?s history. The team played Jackie Robinson, the first African-American player. Robinson was a great contributor to the team winning the Rookie of the Year, later on called as the Jacki Robinson Award. Six pennants in 10 years were won by the team with the help of Robinson. In 1962, another first was achieved by Robinson being the first African American player to be inducted to the Hall of Fame. Again, he was the first African-American player who was granted such accolade.


The move to play Robinson by the team started the integration of teams in all sports. Most teams were not willing to integrate that time but the Dodgers, through their General Manager Branch Rickey, took a bold move. It is still noted as a turning point in the Civil Rights Movement up to this day.

The Dodgers surely is a team to be emulated. Not only did they manage to provide great plays, they also broke down the walls that segregated the sports. People indeed has a reason to talk about the team. As proof of fans going all the way for the team, they have the largest attendance in the games in 1959 and 2008 where the latter was a World Record with 115,300 attendees. No matter what name the team plays under or what stadium they play, people will continue to flock the ballpark to watch the Dodgers in action.
